A documentary of one man's working life as a Sugar Beet Fieldsman with British Sugar.

The film begins at the family home where Michael recalls his memories of sugar beet. We visit farmers who are drilling the seed, a farmer and contractor harvesting the sugar beet and it includes interviews and archive footage of hand hoeing and harvesting.

The film ends at Cantley Sugar Beet Factory in Norfolk where the sugar beet are delivered for processing into sugar.

This production was filmed during all seasons of the year in the sugar beet industry, taking over 12 months to produce.
