Men, Ladies & children came wearing 1940s dress, uniforms were proudly worn by the British, Americans & German troops, not forgetting Winston Churchill and his Cabinet Officers & the village bobby.
Children danced around the village maypole and we watched as three Battle of Britain warplanes put in an appearance. The atmosphere of the forties was enjoyed by all as everyone sang along to songs by "Annie" the Vera Lynn sound alike.
Many other attractions reliving the memories of the forties include, Classic vintage & steam cars, Steam & Stationary engines, a working portable flour mill, Vintage horticultural & garden machinery, Fairground organs, Military vehicles and displays, vintage tractors, pedal cycles and motor bikes & craft stalls.
The production ends with everyone attending The Dance, "Yanks" danced with WAAF'S, Germans with ATS girls as everyone danced and sang the night away to Ockbrook Big Band as they played the familiar Glen Miller legends.
