Claas importer Harvest Machinery Ireland organised a working demonstration of Claas tractors and grassland machines on Wednesday 8th October 2008, showing all the latest Claas products on Offer from Claas for 2009 season, including for the first time seen in Ireland the world's largest self-propelled mower the Claas Cougar, and the New Axos range of Tractors.

A big square 30 Acre meticulously maintained field in Balrath County Meath, was chosen for its ease of access and its excellent high quality crop of 5th cut grass, which was ready for harvesting to supply the factory of McAuley's Dried Grass Feeds the land owners.

The rain free event was held in ideal conditions considering the weather before the event, and with the planning for this day taking place from early August, everything was in place for an excellent day out for all those attending.

Harvest Machinery had organised a wide range of Claas machines from the mounted 2.6m mower conditioner, to the Xerion 330hp systems tractor and 8.5m mower all the way up to the worlds largest self propelled mower the Claas Cougar with 14.0m cutting width, which was especially brought to Ireland for this event. After the Grass was mowed it was spread out with a selection of Volto Tedders then rowed up with a selection of the Liner Swathers.

Next the New Rollant 354 Round Baler was demonstrated, easily handling the 9.0m swath of short grass.

The world leading Claas Jaguar foragers were then shown including Ireland's Largest forager the 830HP twin engined Jaguar 980 machine.

The Complete range of Claas tractors were represented with tractors from the New Axos range, Arion 500 series, Arion 600C series, Arion 600 series, Axion 800 series and the 330hp Xerion.

According to Harvest Machinery upwards of 1000 people attended the Grassland day, with 11 bus loads of people coming from all over Ireland, which were organised by several Claas dealers attending.
