Having plated in Jimmy Shand's Band for a time, Jim Johnstone has been fortunate to gain an insight into a great amount of Jimmy's compositions and to realise that his tunes - although very attractive to listen to - are excellent for dancing, for which purpose Jimmy no doubt composed them. This album contains sixteen varied Scottish and Old Tyme Dances made up from thirty of Jimmy Shand's Compositions and Jim Johnstone and his Band have done a great justice to Jimmy's very fine music.
