Under Blue Skies is a very appropriate title for the brand new album by Charlie Landsborough. 15 years into his career this is incredibly the 11th studio album to be released by the ever popular Liverpudlian, and it is undoubtedly one of his strongest works to date.

Following on from 2006's inspirationally themed album 'Heart And Soul', 'Under Blue Skies' sees Charlie returning to his more traditional roots of penning tales of love, loss and morality to an infectious melody, the type of which, through songs such as 'My Heart Would Know' and 'What Colour Is The Wind', has won him so many admirers over the years.

Recorded under the warm blue skies of Andalucia, Spain, and coming with a free 10 track bonus CD of 'Live Highlights', 'Under Blue Skies' is unique in that it appeals to a complete cross-section of Charlie's fanbase. There are the more typically sounding classic Charlie tracks, songs such as 'Speak To Me Darling', which was previewed live last year to a rapturous reception every night, the poignant 'Some Mothers Son' and 'Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness', a wonderful version of the John Prine classic, all of which will appeal to people who have been following Charlie for years. But with this album Charlie has also ventured into slightly unfamiliar territories on a couple of tracks, and on songs like the rocky 'Long Way Down', the slow building and mystical 'Fog On The River' and the country tinged rock of 'Bullet In Your Gun' it is welcoming to find Charlie, commendably, with age continuing to explore pastures new.
